SAY HELLO TO AMBER ADAMS
Hi, my name is Amber Adams. Being a writer, I love alliteration, and I thank my husband, Peter Adams, for rescuing me from a horrible last name. Pete’s a wonderful man who fills my life with kindness, generosity and the beautiful initials ‘AA’. I was having tea towels embroidered when we first married and cancelled the order when I realized what my initials also stood for. Oh well, it’s still better than my maiden name which I may divulge after we get to know each other better.
THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO LIVE? ST. AUGUSTINE FLORIDA, OF COURSE.
If I weren’t so busy writing murder mysteries, I’d spend my non-beach time soaking up the tales of every historic bed and breakfast, especially the haunted ones. Everywhere I turn there are sights and sounds to fire the imagination. Cannons boom from the fort. Carriages clop through cobblestone streets. Music wafts from the Plaza. The masts of luxury yachts sway in the same harbor where Spanish galleons once anchored. And binding it all together is our beautiful, unique Bridge of Lions.
IT’S A MYSTERY!
I’m excited to tell you about my Day McKelvey Mystery Series. We meet a delightful conglomeration of characters led of course by the plucky newspaper reporter for the fictional First Coast Dispatch newspaper, Day McKelvey. Readers will delight in her wacky tarot card reading mother Zanthia, her down-to-earth best friend Rhonda, her forbidden lover Sam and the diverse group of newspaper employees.
The locale of this series couldn’t be more intriguing. The historic city of St. Augustine, which recently celebrated its 450th year of existence, is the backdrop for some macabre murders, eccentric residents and troublesome romantic entanglements. Readers of this series who have ever visited the Ancient City will recognize famous landmarks and beautiful bayside locales.
You’ll almost hear the clip-clop of horse drawn carriages as you turn the pages of this compelling series. Please turn to the Books page to find details of Day McKelvey’s adventures, and please feel free to contact me with your comments or questions.
