Why a Writers Conference?

Is the point of a writer’s conference just to sit in workshops and learn how to write the next  bestseller? Not really–instruction, however professional,  can only take the would-be writer so far along the path to literary success. The intangible value of a conference is the motivation it provides and the opportunity to view our work from new and different perspectives. It’s also a chance to share experiences with others who’ve chosen to venture into the maddening, frustrating, exhilarating arena of the written word,
